New to Grow
I believe that healing happens when people feel truly heard, understood, and safe enough to be themselves. As a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 15 years of experience, I work with adults, children, teens, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, relationship challenges, parenting concerns, grief, and life transitions. I have spent my life and career focused on partnering with clients to seek out solutions that increase their inner peace and self-worth. I have a special interest in helping adults heal from the lasting effects of difficult childhood experiences, including emotionally unavailable or addicted parents, family dysfunction, childhood trauma, and insecure attachment. I also have spent several years helping children and adolescents make sense of their world. Together we can explore how early relationships continue to influence self-worth, boundaries, relationships, and emotional wellbeing while building healthier patterns for the future. I believe our earliest relationships shape how we see ourselves, others, and the world, but they do not have to define the rest of our lives.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, but my goal is to make your first session feel comfortable and productive. We'll spend time getting to know one another, talking about what brought you to therapy, what you've already tried, and what you hope will be different in your life. I'll ask questions about your history, current challenges, relationships, strengths, and goals so I can understand the whole picture, not just the problem that brought you in. You don't have to tell your entire life story during our first meeting. We'll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Before the session ends, we'll identify a few initial goals and discuss a plan for moving forward together. My hope is that you leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of direction.
Many of the adults I work with are successful on the outside but internally carry the effects of growing up in homes where they learned to stay small, take care of others, avoid conflict, or believe their needs didn't matter. Therapy provides a place to understand where those patterns came from and begin creating relationships that feel healthier, safer, and more authentic. Clients often tell me they appreciate that I balance empathy with honesty. I believe people deserve both compassion and accountability. I'll listen carefully, help you make sense of what's happening, and gently challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck. My experience spans outpatient therapy, intensive home-based services, crisis intervention, child and family mental health, clinical supervision, and program leadership. Working with individuals and families in many different settings has taught me that there is no "one-size-fits-all" approach to healing. I tailor therapy to each person by combining evidence-based practices with genuine curiosity about your experiences, strengths, and values. I enjoy helping clients better understand themselves, improve relationships, regulate emotions, and build confidence in handling life's challenges. Above all, I believe therapy should be a partnership. We'll celebrate progress, work through setbacks together, and focus on creating meaningful, sustainable change rather than quick fixes.
Many of my clients are successful in their careers and relationships but still find themselves struggling with anxiety, people-pleasing, perfectionism, self-doubt, burnout, or feeling responsible for everyone else's needs. I also enjoy working with parents, caregivers, couples, and individuals experiencing life transitions, relationship challenges, ADHD, anxiety, depression, grief, and stress. I believe therapy should help you better understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, and create a life that feels more authentic and emotionally safe. Concerns you may have or be thinking about might include things like, Why do I keep choosing the wrong partner? Why can't I relax even when everything is okay? Why don't feel like myself anymore.? Or, how do I still feel like this? Many of my teen clients have questions like, Why doesn't anyone understand me? Why am I so angry/sad/worried all the time? Or how can I be so different than everyone else? My ideal client is curious, open to self-reflection, and willing to explore both the past and present. You don't have to have everything figured out or keep carrying this on your own. Whether you're seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, we'll work together to understand what's keeping you stuck, build on your strengths, and create meaningful, lasting change. Every journey begins with a single step, and I'd be honored to take that first step with you.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I've used Cognitive Behavioral Therapy throughout my career to help children, teens, and adults better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together we'll identify unhelpful thinking patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and build practical skills to reduce anxiety, depression, stress, and everyday challenges. My goal is to help you make lasting changes that continue long after therapy ends.
Attachment-based
I believe many of our current struggles are shaped by our earliest relationships. Attachment-focused therapy helps us understand how childhood experiences influence self-worth, relationships, boundaries, and emotional wellbeing today. Whether you're healing from challenging family dynamics, childhood trauma, or relationship difficulties, we'll work together to create healthier patterns built on safety, connection, and self-compassion.
Gottman method
Relationships don't have to remain stuck in painful patterns. Using the Gottman Method, I help couples improve communication, navigate conflict with greater understanding, rebuild friendship, and create stronger emotional connection. Therapy focuses on practical, evidence-based tools that couples can use both during sessions and in everyday life.
Motivational Interviewing
Change can be difficult, especially when part of you wants things to be different while another part feels uncertain or stuck. Using Motivational Interviewing, I'll help you explore your own strengths, values, and motivations so that change feels meaningful and sustainable rather than forced.
Family Therapy
Parents know their children better than anyone, yet raising a child with emotional or behavioral challenges can feel overwhelming. I partner with parents to better understand what their child's behaviors may be communicating while teaching practical strategies that strengthen relationships, improve communication, and support healthy emotional development.
