My name is Jose Navarro, but my family and friends call me "Joe." I am a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) who uses a person-centered, trauma-informed approach with my clients. I love to work with individuals facing life stressors, anxiety, depression, relational problems, and trauma work, to name a few. I have experience working in community-based agency settings and private therapy practice. I have had the opportunity to work with individuals from all age ranges and backgrounds experiencing a multitude of life stressors and mental health concerns.

First session
In each session including the very first one, my priority is creating a safe, secure, and non-judgmental space where you feel heard. Following a brief introduction, our initial session is dedicated to establishing a strong therapeutic bond and understanding your unique needs. Together, we'll navigate your therapeutic journey with empathy and trust, ensuring a positive and natural progression towards your goals.
Strengths
I am easy to speak to and communicate with. I enjoy meeting new people and allowing my clients to work at their own pace. I focus on client safety and security and reserve personal preference so your session is judgment-free.
Ideal clients
I enjoy working with adult clients across the lifespan, from young adulthood through older adulthood, including individuals aged 60 and above. I have experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety and mood disorders, trauma-related concerns, relational difficulties, personality disorders, and significant life transitions. My work with older adults includes addressing concerns related to aging, retirement, grief and loss, changes in independence, chronic health conditions, shifting family dynamics, loneliness, and finding renewed meaning and purpose in later life. I recognize that each stage of adulthood presents unique challenges and opportunities for personal growth. Through an integrative, holistic, and trauma-informed approach, I strive to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment that honors each client's lived experiences, individual strengths, cultural background, and personal goals for healing and well-being.
Treatment methods
Trauma Informed Care
I believe everyone should feel safe and secure during their therapeutic journey. That's why I use trauma-informed care as my framework treatment method in all the work I perform with my clients.
