Hi, I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) practicing in California. I received my Masters Degree in Counseling from Cal State Northridge in 1998, worked in Social Work for the past 20 years and for the past few years have been counseling couples and individuals. I help people deal with their issues from a strength-based compassionate perspective. I am here to support and encourage you while also challenging you to become your healthy and best self.
In our first session together, we'll start with introductions. Then you can tell me as much or as little as you would like to allow yourself to get comfortable with me. After the first session, we will then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
As a therapist, I believe my greatest strengths stem from my deep empathy and active listening skills, which allow me to truly connect with my clients and create a safe, trusting space for them to share their experiences. I’m passionate about cultural competence and take the time to understand the unique backgrounds and perspectives of each client, tailoring my approach to fit their individual needs. My flexibility in therapeutic techniques enables me to adapt as we navigate the therapeutic journey together. I pride myself on my strong communication skills, which help foster open dialogue and ensure that clients feel heard and understood. Problem-solving is another area where I thrive; I enjoy collaborating with clients to identify challenges and develop practical strategies that empower them. I approach each session with patience, understanding that healing is a process that unfolds at its own pace. Self-awareness is crucial in my practice, as it helps me maintain professionalism and objectivity while remaining deeply engaged with my clients’ stories. I am committed to my own growth as a therapist, continually seeking new insights and techniques to better support those I work with. Ultimately, my genuine care for my clients drives my passion for helping them navigate their journeys toward healing and self-discovery.
Coming from a social work background, I have studied and been successful at working out issues from a strength based perspective.
