New to Grow
Hi, I'm Lyndsey! I'm so glad you’re here :). I have been a counselor for 12 years. I'm passionate about working with individuals who are experiencing relationship issues and neurodivergent (autism, ADHD etc.) adults and adolescents. I also work with individuals who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and other clinical disorders. I understand that these struggles can feel overwhelming and deeply personal, and I work to meet clients where they are with empathy, respect, and practical support. I'm looking forward to beginning this journey with you.
Your first session with me will feel safe, clear, and purposeful. First sessions are about getting to know you and what you need, there's no pressure to share everything the first day. We will cover confidentiality, limits, and what therapy sessions with me look like. We will determine if you are or are not interested in integrating faith into your counseling journey. We will discuss your current symptoms and situations that lead you to seek therapy.
My approach to counseling is structured, faith-integrated (if you desire), and neurodiversity-affirming. My goal is to inspire clients to understand their minds, regulate their emotions, build practical change, and connect spiritually.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients understand that thoughts influence emotions, emotions influence behaviors, and changing thoughts can change outcomes. Early sessions include psychoeducation on how automatic thoughts work and teaching the client what cognitive distortions are. Ultimately, the client will learn cognitive restructuring. They will learn how to identify automatic thoughts, examine the evidence for/against the thought, and how to replace with a balanced more rational thought. Sometimes, Social Skills Training (SST) can also be a helpful intervention. SST is typically used for individuals who are diagnosed with autism, ADHD, and social anxiety. During SST, the individual may learn conversation skills, how to read social cues, turn-taking, eye contact, and healthy boundaries in relationships/interactions with others.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
ACT is best used for: identity, burnout, masking, values-based living. ACT is often one of the most effective treatment modalities for autistic adults, especially those who have spent years masking. It doesn't require changing thoughts but focuses on acceptance + values. ACT helps reduce shame and the "fixing" mindset.
Christian Counseling
I offer faith-integrated therapy upon request. I integrate faith into CBT. I sue scripture therapeutically, incorporate prayer when appropriate, and address core Christian themes within a clinical framework. We will address clinical issues such as shame, anxiety, control, identity issues, and trauma with Christianity intergrated. Some practical interventions used in Christian Counseling are scripture journaling, prayer as grounding, truth vs lies worksheets (CBT+ Bible), forgiveness work, and values work framed around calling/purpose.
