Are you experiencing a time in your life where you feel stuck or overwhelmed by life's challenges? This can be a result of specific challenging events such as career struggles, divorce, bereavement, retirement, becoming a new parent or empty nester or generally feeling that your life has come to an impasse and you don't know what action to take next. Sometimes people feel they have been leading a life that has been difficult since childhood, often as a result of loss or traumatic events. This can result in feeling disconnected from your authentic self and other people. I also have a particular speciality in helping families and individuals impacted by family building using Donor conception. I am listed as one of the mental health professionals in the RESOLVE Professional Directory. (This is a Massachusetts based charitable organization helping individuals with issues related to infertility.)

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session, it is helpful if you have already completed the initial intake questionnaire since I will review this with you and ask you to determine which problems / issues/ symptoms are the most urgent to address first. I will let you know I will be developing a treatment plan to structure the work. It is important that the client determine what their priorities are.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I use various methods and types of therapy depending on the needs of the client and their goals for therapy. This includes DBT (dialectical behavior therapy), CBT, Attachment based therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), family systems, life coaching, motivational interviewing, Psychodynamic ,trauma focused and strength based

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength is my great interest in each person as a unique person with a unique story.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I do well working with clients who prefer a mixture of developing enhanced insight and feeling heard and understood through the therapeutic relationship but are also willing to try practical things outside of the therapy session which may cause them mild anxiety or they think they can't do. The purpose of this is to build on self confidence and create a better ability to manage their own life and problems.
