My name is Joy and I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with you! Some people look for a therapist because they just need to be heard, some may want to learn how to better manage life situations, and others may want to better understand themselves, their relationships, their behaviors or their habits and patterns. As a therapist I walk alongside my clients, guiding them towards achieving personal goals and assisting with understanding and developing a better version of themselves. I utilize a holistic approach focusing on the integration of mind, body, psyche and spirit to help clients struggling with depression, PTSD, anxiety, low self esteem, grief and loss, relationship struggles and Co-Occurring disorders. You deserve a safe space, free of judgment to do the internal work that is necessary for personal growth and development, and I would love the opportunity to provide that space for you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

After meeting one another and identifying the struggles and barriers in your life, we will create a plan with specific benchmark measurements to help you achieve your goals on your timeline. This plan will act as an objective tool to measure your progress. You can expect to conclude treatment with a better understanding of yourself and the world around you. You may also leave with a new set of skills and increased confidence in your ability to manage life as life happens. As one of my clients you will be taking an active role in creating a deeper understanding of yourself and taking intentional steps towards creating the life you want.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I work from a psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral (DBT) framework. I use a lot of psychoeducation to help clients develop a better understanding of themselves and the world around them while introducing skills to help manage the stressors that life has to offer.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Each client is an individual and deserves an individualized approach to mental health and holistic treatment. I work from a psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral (DBT) framework and provide my services in a client centered and eclectic way to best meet each individual's needs. Using these evidenced based approaches, I have effectively helped many people on their way to creating the best version of themselves.
