As a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of diverse experience in mental health and addiction treatment, I bring both depth and dedication to my private practice. I specialize in working with individuals facing challenges related to addiction, trauma, intimate partner violence, grief and loss and low self-esteem. My approach is rooted in evidence-based and promising practices. I emphasize compassion and active listening to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel empowered and supported. In our work together, you can expect a collaborative, respectful process tailored to your unique needs and goals. My commitment is to help you build self-awareness and resilience, providing you with tools for meaningful, lasting change.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, my goal is to create a comfortable, supportive environment where you feel empowered to work on the issues that brought you to therapy. I’ll ask you about your main concerns, along with some background on your health and personal history, to get a fuller picture of what brings you here. We’ll also discuss any symptoms and how they affect your daily life, helping us set priorities for treatment. Together, we may start to outline therapy goals and discuss what future sessions will look like.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a therapist lie in my ability to create a genuinely safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel seen and heard. I bring a collaborative spirit to the therapeutic process, making it a true partnership where we work side by side toward your goals. With a blend of empathy, active listening, and personalized approaches, I’m skilled at meeting each person exactly where they are and tailoring our work to their unique needs. I’m dedicated to helping clients build self-awareness and providing practical tools to empower real change, always respecting each person’s pace on their journey.

My treatment methods

Gestalt

Gestalt Therapy is a client-centered approach that emphasizes self-awareness and personal growth by focusing on the present moment. It encourages clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors as they occur, often using techniques like role-playing and body awareness. This process helps clients connect with their needs and feelings, fostering positive change and healthier relationships.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented approach that helps individuals identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. By recognizing negative or distorted thinking, clients learn to reframe their thoughts and develop healthier coping strategies.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma-Informed is an approach that recognizes the pervasive impact of trauma on a person’s mental health and behavior. I create a safe, non-judgemental space where clients feel respected and empowered. It is important to understand a client's trauma history and tailor interventions to avoid re-dramatization.

Strength-Based

The Strengths-Based Approach is a therapeutic method that focuses on identifying and building upon an individual’s inherent strengths, skills, and resources rather than focusing on deficits or problems. This approach empowers clients by recognizing their resilience, capabilities, and successes, encouraging a positive mindset and greater self-efficacy. By shifting the focus to what clients do well, they gain confidence and are better equipped to address challenges, fostering a sense of agency and personal growth.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Brief Treatment is a goal-oriented, future-focused therapy that helps clients identify practical solutions rather than focusing extensively on past issues. I collaborate with clients to clarify goals, highlight strengths, and recognize instances where they have already made progress. By emphasizing what is working well and envisioning small, achievable steps forward, clients build momentum toward their desired outcomes.
