Hi, I'm Jess. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 11 years of experience working with adolescents, adults, couples and families. Do you feel overwhelmed? Are you struggling with relationship issues? Are you having difficulty managing the day to day tasks? I can help you find ways to manage these stressors, improve your communication and conflict resolution skills while processing your feelings and exploring the root causes. We'll use a strengths based and person-in-environment approach. I integrate mindfulness and coping strategies into our sessions as well. Whether you are dealing with feeling overwhelmed, cycles of anxiety, depression, mood regulation or relationship issues, I am here to help. I understand that seeking therapy can be an overwhelming and scary process but you are making a brave choice. In your sessions, I will meet you with compassion and evidence based techniques.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, we will discuss what has been going on that is bringing you to therapy. It is also an opportunity for you to ask me any questions and where we can work together to identify goals and make a plan for your treatment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked with clients with diverse issues, ages, and backgrounds. I believe that meeting each client where they are without any judgment and seeing them as the expert in their life is key. I can help you to better manage emotions and stressors. I am honest, sincere and committed to helping you.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with adolescents, adults and couples who are are either experiencing difficulty coping with current life stressors or have a history of trauma.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using CBT for the past 13 years. We will use CBT to explore how unhelpful thinking habits influence behaviors and feelings. Once we can learn to recognize one’s distortions in thinking that are problematic, we can then challenge and change those unhelpful thinking habits which will result in change responses in difficult situations.

Strength-Based

I believe we all have strengths and these strengths can be utilized to help you achieve your goals, improve resilience and dis over other inner strengths.

Somatic

Somatic Therapy is helpful in developing awareness of the mind-body connection and often times utilizing that physical awareness to ultimately release emotions that remain in your body from past experiences. Often times, I may ask you to take notice to changes in your posture or breathing or ask where you may feel certain things in your body when you are feeling upset, anxious, etc.
