I am licensed in Florida with over 12 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, parenting issues, motivation, self esteem, confidence, depression, and more. It takes courage to seek out help and even more to accept that we can use a hand every now and then (it takes a village, after all, right?). I am here to support & empower you in that journey. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion because only with that and radical love for ourselves and others can we heal ourselves and this world. As someone with ADHD, I like to help those with the same struggles I have had my whole life. However, my favorite thing is to help you find that light you have inside already and help you make it brighter. I also speak geek for those of you who feel more comfortable with that ;) Hablo Español.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I am a therapist that believes in venting when needed and I allow my clients to do that when they feel the need for it. I'm also funny and make geeky references. I like holding space for you because many of us don't really get that even with our friends.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am big on women empowering and healing, but also very passionate about helping fellow ADHDers because we struggle with more than many others ever even imagine.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I love CBT because it helps us accept our thoughts (even the bad ones) and then learn how to add a positive spin on them

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

Being culturally sensitive is just another term for respect. We all deserve it, no matter background/ethnicity/religion/etc.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

There's a quote I love that says “You can't start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one" by Michael McMillian. This means that if we only stay focused on what was and what happened, we can't move forward and, in my experience, the way to move forward is by finding solutions to the problem we have to do and make a better tomorrow.

Psychoeducation

Back in the 1500s the church didn't want people to understand the Bible because, if they were uneducated, they were easier to control (this is not to bash the church, but to bash those who wants to control the rest of us, which are people with the pretense of faith). I believe in knowledge and its power. If you know what is going on inside and know how to work with it, you become more powerful than the symptoms
