I have been a dedicated board-certified nurse practitioner for the past 17 years. I specialize in treating patient with depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, ADHD, grief, cancer survivors and women issues such as domestic violence. I am careful to treat each person with dignity and respect while assisting them through life’s difficulties. My treatment modalities includes prescribing medications for adults with all psychiatric disorders and individual psychotherapy with a warm spiritual psychodynamic approach.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together I will listen closely to you as to how I can help. Then I will complete a thorough psychiatric assessment to determine the correct diagnosis that needs treatment. Depending on the symptoms that is presenting, labs will be ordered to rule out any medical disorders and appropriate referral to primary care providers made as needed while continuing to work on the psychiatric disorder needing attention.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Working as a nurse practitioner for the past 17 years have taught me that medication management & psychotherapy works best for the patient in an environment where time is taken to build rapport with that patient. Therefore, I take time to listen to my patients to determine how best to proceed with their care.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am certified as an adult psychiatric nurse practitioner serving patients from age 18 to 99.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

Healing doesn't come by ignoring our pain or thinking it will go away. Pain must be accepted, faced and a decision made as to how to change. Most of us are stuck in our misery and desperation but there is hope. God can help us change our behavior.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

The causes of psychiatric disorders such as depression may not be purely psychological but can also be biological which involves neurochemical malfunction. Most biologically based psychiatric disorders require medication treatment. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner I also prescribe psychiatric medications to assist with healing.
