Hello there, My name is Imagine. I serve people from many different walks of life, and I have found that working with women of color experiencing life transitions has been impactful. I believe that although change is inevitable, it can be difficult being clear about our identities along the way. I provide a nonjudgmental ear and perspective in order to support clients on their journey through deeper self understanding.
In the first session, we will explore the client's desired outcomes from treatment, identify realistic goals, and gain historical information related to the client's current concerns.
My greatest strengths are developing a therapeutic relationship, tailoring treatment to what the client needs, and remaining nonjudgmental.
I am best positioned to serve women that are currently experiencing a life transition and find themselves yearning for a deeper self connection and/or have difficulties communicating their desires. I feel comfortable working with people that have experienced trauma and providing space for them to process their experiences.
I incorporate mindfulness into my practice in order to assist client with being more present. Many times, anxiety is rooted in worry about what may happen, shifting a person's focus to the present moment. In our sessions, we will use mindfulness techniques in order to combat over thinking about the past or future.
I use emotionally focused therapy techniques in order to identify the source of a person's emotions. Being able to be clear about the contributing factors to our feelings, helps us to make choices about our environments, our habits, and our relationships.
I use acceptance and commitment therapy techniques to assist clients in learning what it looks like for them to adapt during difficult situations. Building psychological flexibility will help clients to feel more confident in their ability to move forward following hardship.
