I have experience and enjoy working with adolescents, adults, couples and families who present with a variety of therapeutic needs, including chronic illness/oncology, grief and bereavement, trauma, anxiety, depression, adoption issues, self-harm, and substance abuse to name a few. My approach is supportive, collaborative, and direct. My practice focuses on elements of cognitive behavioral therapy with a solution-focused / strengths-based mindset to help clients reach their goals and tap into what’s already working. It may be important to focus on what happened in the past but maybe the most important issues are the ones you’re facing today, in this moment. My flexible approach helps clients feel heard, valued and supported.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is one of the most effective treatment modalities for anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, self-esteem issues and a myriad of others. I utilize this to help people see the connection between their thought process, emotional connection and then the resulting behavior. If you're plagued with negative thinking patterns, CBT will help interrupt those thoughts and give you a rest, if even for a moment, from the feelings that come along with it. I don't force homework, worksheets, readings (unless requested), rather I weave this into our conversations during the session.

Grief Therapy

We have all been through something that can cause grief or sadness, sometimes significantly. Wether that be the passing of a loved one, a chronic medical diagnosis, a breakup with a loved one or a friend. Navigating these emotions can be difficult but with the right support, we can see way your way through.

Integrative

Because I have worked in a variety of settings, with many different populations, I utilize many different styles depending on the needs of the client. In some conversations, we may be focused on your strengths and utilizing what is already working. Maybe we are looking to change thinking patterns or safely remove you from a toxic relationship. No matter what the issue is, I will meet you where you are and we will work through it together.
