Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with women that are struggling with ADHD, anxiety, depression and/or trauma. It is exhilarating to see women learn to manage their insecurities, self-doubts with self-awareness and resiliency. I help adults dealing with childhood trauma learn about their wounded inner child and techniques to help regulate emotions. I know what it is to feel inadequate and misunderstood. I want to help those that share the same feelings learn there is hope and that they matter. I enjoy helping children learn about their bodies, personalities and how to regulate emotions.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT as a therapeutic approach to helping individuals focus on distressing thought patterns and ways to alter those distressing thoughts in a more practical and realistic way. I have seen CBT be successful with anxiety, depression and mood disorders.

Attachment-based

I use attachment-based therapy with individuals and families. I work on establishing and rebuilding trust that may have impeded a person from continuing to reach secure attachment. I have used this modality with children who have been abused and adults who have experienced some form of childhood trauma.

Family Therapy

I have used family therapy with families that are experiencing some form of distress with another family member. This method helps facilitate each parties expectations to enhance communication and achieve a more cohesive relationship.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I incorporate this method in a similar way to regular CBT. I use this method with individuals that have experienced some form of trauma. This method was developed to help children and adolescents heal through a 3-step approach. Safety and Stabilization, Formal Gradual Exposure and Consolidation/Intergration.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use this method as a short term goal focused approach. This method helps individuals focus on creating change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on the problems. This method is used with individuals struggling with substance abuse, children with behavior problems, couples and many more.
