About me

My name is Robin and I am a seasoned clinician with 25 years of experience doing what I love-empowering clients to heal, gain strength, better understand themselves, and make changes! I am passionate about helping individuals understand the impact that life experiences can have on the mind and body. I utilize a blend of therapeutic approaches including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to facilitate understanding, healing, and growth.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During your first session, and throughout your therapy experience, we will go at your pace. You are not expected to share intimate details about yourself until you are ready to do so. In fact, some very effective therapy can be done without you ever having to share difficult parts of your story. We will work together to determine the best path for you!

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

In working as a therapist for more than 20 years, I have developed the ability to effectively treat many presenting problems, yet I never forget that each client is unique and deserves a therapeutic experience that best suits their personality, needs, and readiness for change. My clients comment on my warmth and soothing presence, and they appreciate my honesty and humor.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Even if you have been disappointed by therapy in the past, I believe that together we can achieve the results you desire! My areas of interest and specialty include: trauma; grief and loss; mental health and relationship challenges during perimenopause & menopause; spiritual abuse; mental health professionals as clients; the Enneagram; and Personality Disorders.

My treatment methods

Mind-body approach

As our bodies can carry the weight of our experiences, I believe in the importance of treating both the mind and body. I am certified in an evidence-based, mind-body healing technique, Accelerated Resolution Therapy. ART utilizes eye-movements to release trapped emotions from the body, reduce the pain of stuck memories, and reframe negative cognitions. I think of it as a kinder, gentler, and more effective way to treat trauma. And this same modality is effective in the treatment of anxiety, depression, OCD, addiction, grief and many other presenting issues!

Eclectic

My approach to therapy is always client-centered and trauma-informed. You will be given choices in the type of work we do and you will not be asked to share painful details about your life or past experiences. I utilize a blend of therapeutic approaches including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Internal Family Systems (IFS); Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to facilitate healing and growth.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Feeling stuck? Don't understand why you do the things you do? I will work with you to identify the parts of your personality that are holding you back from the life you want. As you learn how to better understand and nurture those parts, you can move forward into integration and wholeness.
