New to Grow
I’m a bilingual Spanish-English LMFT in California, licensed in February 2025, with 15 years of clinical experience. I gained my first 10 years of clinical experience in Mexico, where I grew up, lived, and studied (bachelor’s and master’s degrees). I then spent nearly five years working here in California, with extensive trauma-informed, integrative experience across a range of programs (victims of crime, domestic violence, and workers’ compensation), as well as extensive experience in community mental health. I also have initial training in Jungian therapy, and I incorporate dream work and dream processing when clients present with nightmares or sleep issues.
Our first session will be formal but relaxed. I'll conduct an initial assessment to understand your concerns, relevant background, and what has helped or not helped in the past. Together we will identify initial goals, and you will leave with a simple next step to practice between sessions. I hope you'll leave feeling truly heard and hopeful.
I would describe myself as genuine, creative, and strategic. I am a well-seasoned therapist with experience in trauma interventions, identifying emotions, and helping clients verbalize their feelings during our sessions.
I would love working individual, adult sessions, with people who are aware of their struggles and feel ready to observe their patterns with honesty and intention. I feel ready to support clients working through past experiences or current stress who want more steadiness and calm in their lives. I also welcome Spanish-speaking clients. It is not required, but I enjoy working with them and have many Spanish-language resources available.
Other specialties
I identify as
Trauma Informed Care
I bring 15 years of clinical experience and work from a trauma-informed lens. Recently, I have been integrating insights from Gabor Maté’s trainings and somatic interventions to create a steady, compassionate space. I conceptualize symptoms as adaptive responses shaped by lived experience, environment, and unmet needs.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I implement mindfulness in my clinical work to build mindful awareness of thoughts, feelings, and body sensations so clients can notice patterns without getting pulled into them, practice present-moment skills in session (such as breathing, grounding, and body scans) with realistic between-session practices.
Somatic
I work at a steady, body-aware pace to support safety, and I collaborate with clients to build regulation skills, and reconnect with meaning for sustained change.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
As a bilingual and bicultural LMFT who migrated and lives in a multicultural marriage, I meet clients where they are by honoring language, values, faith, family roles, and migration experiences. I collaborate with each client to tailor pacing, communication, and interventions so therapy fits their cultural context and real life.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I build a safe, nonjudgmental space grounded in empathy and respect, and I collaborate with clients to clarify their goals, honor their values, and move at a pace that supports autonomy and lasting change.
