Hola, My name is Lori Ayala. I have been in the mental health field for about ten years. My credentials are in Professional Clinical Counseling (LPCC) and Marriage Family Therapy (AMFT). I provide sessions in English and Spanish. I am a person of diverse interests. I find joy in hiking, running, watching movies/shows, traveling, and sharing these experiences with my dogs Luna, Jango, and Koa.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I assess the client during the first session and share what may be the best approach for the presenting problem. Often, the approach I use is psychodynamic with an attachment theory lens. During the first session, the client will narrate their childhood (formative years), and we will dive into the formation of their attachment style and personality. This is essential to understand the presenting problems. After several sessions, skills such as boundary setting, expression of emotions, communication skills, and more will be built.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Life is rough; I have experianced it firsthand. The tough times have taught me in my personal and professional life that God has a divine way of working life out; he uses our weaknesses, transforms them into strengths, and uses our pain to humble us and make us courageous. With my professional and personal hardships, I've developed a love for people and the ability to help them live more authentically. Above all, I've learned to let God work through me because he knows you better than I will ever know your pain. I am just here to serve.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I find great joy in working with clients who are ready for change and eager to learn and break generations of trauma. My goal is to serve mi gente. We come from a long line of 'echale ganas,' but don't stir the pot, which can be confusing and exhausting. I help individuals heal generational trauma and childhood wounds, paving the way for a life of authenticity, confidence, culture, and abundance. My approach is rooted in a Faith-Based Perspective, where I allow God to work through me, filling you with strength, love, and courage.

Lori is great. I came for marital counseling. She is not the first counselor we have seen(our 4th to be exact) Since we started we have had the most improvement in our relationship w/ her help. She continues to help us and I really enjoy having her as our therapist. Also she has helped us work individually as well, which has been necessary in my growth journey to being a better human, mom, wife, friend.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

The client will narrate their childhood (formative years), where we will dive into their attachment style and personality formation. This is essential to understand the presenting problems and find grace to allow to leave the past in the past.
