I am a bilingual licensed clinical social worker and board-approved supervisor with 16+ years of experience. My focus is to address grief, adjustment, domestic violence, PTSD, depression, and anxiety. I enjoy guiding others in working towards their life goals by sharing a positive and motivating attitude. Therapy is a great tool for anyone that is needing the extra push to focus on increasing self-love and work on increasing self-care. I worked for the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley as a Clinical Associate Professor and AOP Field Coordinator for 2 years and previously to UTRGV, I worked for South Texas College, for over 7 years as Counseling Services Manager. Also, I had been teaching in higher education for 5 years and have done both in-person and online courses for Our Lady of the Lake University. I graduated from The University of Texas-Pan American in 2010 with a Master of Science in Social Work and obtained a Bachelor of Social Work in 2009. I am currently licensed as a Board-Approved Clinical Social Work Supervisor in Texas. I am also a Laughter Ambassador/Certified Laughter Yoga Teacher and work as a Clinical Supervisor for the Boys and Girls Clubs Youth and Family Support Services Program. I continue working with the community to increase mental health awareness and provide trainings to mental health professionals.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a therapist, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) because it's a practical, evidence-based approach that helps you understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Many of the challenges we face—like anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or unhelpful habits—are often reinforced by patterns in how we think and respond. In our work together, we’ll explore those patterns in a safe, collaborative space. CBT isn't about “fixing” you—it's about helping you become more aware of how your thoughts impact your emotions and actions, and giving you tools to make lasting, empowering changes. Whether it’s learning how to challenge negative thinking, develop healthier coping strategies, or build confidence through achievable goals, CBT gives you practical skills that can create real change in your daily life.
