*** note about visit pricing: Initial visit for medication management is $225, follow-up visits are $125. Hello! My name is Sarah Blizzard. I am a nurse practitioner who is board certified in both family practice and psychiatric mental health. I have been in practice for over 28 years as both a registered nurse and a nurse practitioner. I have extensive experience in psychiatric mental health and emergency medicine. I am skilled in treating a variety of mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, substance abuse, OCD, Bipolar disorder, dementia, insomnia, traumatic brain injuries, ADHD, and much more. I work with patients ages 13 and older. I am in this field because I genuinely care about people and I want to help others to achieve their best quality of life possible. My goal is to help you reach your highest quality of life and become the best version of yourself! I am passionate about helping people gain access to mental health care and believe healthcare should be easily accessible, affordable, and of the highest quality. I am empathetic, compassionate, respectful, caring, and competent. I follow the model of taking care of patients as they were my own family. Healthcare can be scary and complicated to navigate, but it doesn't have to be, and I am passionate about helping you to make the process as easy and painless as possible.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first appointment will be a formal medical intake and evaluation. We will spend a great deal of time discussing your medical, surgical, and psychiatric history. We will also be collecting information about your family history, current symptoms, past medications tried, and more. The counseling provided in this appointment will include a discussion of treatment options, medication education (if appropriate), and supportive listening.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I do not offer strictly therapy. I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and I specialize in medication management and refer my patients to great counselors when needed as part of their overall treatment plan. I firmly believe that the patient-provider relationship is extremely important and involves trust, transparency, and teamwork. I consider myself a guide in your care, making suggestions based on scientific evidence and years of experience, but always letting the patient make their own decisions as to what is best for them.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Ages 18 years and older. I am very experienced in treating all kinds of psychiatric conditions, but I specialize in anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar disorder, and insomnia. I do treat ADHD, but have extensive guidelines and requirements and no longer prescribe certain schedule II stimulant medications for my patients (please inquire for any questions regarding this policy).
