Erika Bischoff
Change is possible and I believe that all individuals deserve the opportunity to create positive changes that will impact them throughout their lives. My role in the therapeutic process is to help clients explore patterns of thoughts and behaviors that are negatively impacting their lives and provide them skills to gain more control and build healthy and meaningful relationships. I strive to provide a creative and collaborative environment by which clients can reach their goals in a relatively short time.
First session
The first session will be a review of the intake form and going over what are the current needs and challenges and how therapy can help. I provide a safe environment and know that the first session can create anxiety and always let my clients know that the first session can bring up different emotions and it's ok not to discuss anything that feels overwhelming.
Strengths
I practice from a client-centered approach and focus on strengths-based and growth mindset. I am very much a problem-solver and like to apply that skill in finding solutions to help clients meet their goals. I work from a social justice perspective and see clients within the system they work and live.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have several years of clinical experience in working with individuals and families who are dealing with a variety of mental health issues including, depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance abuse. I use a cognitive behavior therapy approach to help clients learn skills and change thought patterns so they can meet the goals they want.
