Thank you for taking time for yourself and for exploring my profile. I am a seasoned Nurse Practitioner specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health and Medication Management while incorporating expertise in Adult Health (chronic disease, oncology, medical) to arrive at what serves you best. I listen intently and focus on your current situation. I am passionate about helping you do the work of healing and discovery. I will go the extra mile as long as you commit to doing the same. One clarification: I do not accept clients on Suboxone or in active detox treatment. You are best served by someone who specializes in addiction.
Our first session includes brief introductions, a review of history, a discussion about the challenges you're facing and what you hope to gain through treatment with me. I pride myself on taking time, providing education, and exploring options. We will create a plan together and tailor it as needed in follow-up sessions.
Having a history of working with transitions through the lifespan from young adult to genteel aging, I offer a compassionate yet focused approach to helping you discover your own strengths and get excited about growth. Change is inevitable but not always easy. Together let's explore what lies beyond your perceived limitations at a pace that is comfortable for you.
Do you struggle to focus, stay on task, or complete things you have started? Many adults are newly diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorders. I enjoy working with ADHD and seeing the definite improvement in work, home, and personal life. I also work closely with people in transition, who are reinventing themselves following a career change, retirement, or the loss of a partner, spouse, or significant other. I specialize in depression and anxiety medication management and utilize gene therapy when needed to ensure we are choosing the best medications among many options. I encourage those with Bipolar depression, Borderline Personality disorders, and addiction recovery issues to meet regularly with a therapist to maximize drug therapy. I do not manage active Addiction.
Stress and difficulty coping lead to distortions in thinking and problem-solving. What once seemed easy, now seems hard. I work hand in hand with you to develop a better sense of self-confidence, meet life's transitions with strategies to face issues instead of avoiding them.
Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy is just one option we can use to enable a person to access their memory network while focusing on a variety of other stimuli like tapping and hand movement. Studies show that EMDR releases blocks and allows for timely and controlled processing leading to healing that previously took a long time.
Through options such as meditation, stress-reduction, visual imagery, breath work, art, music, and spirituality, together we'll individualize an approach to help you grow beyond the place where you are stuck.
Integrative therapy includes nutritional approaches, diet, exercise, supplements, relaxation and stress reduction techniques, discussing the role of psychedelic science, ketamine, and other modalities you may want to explore.
