Welcoming New Patients to Encounter Wellness Mental Health Services! "And still, I rise.” — Maya Angelou. Are you struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma symptoms, or maybe you do not feel like yourself? We are here to help you. Hello, my name is Cassandra Hazelrig, and I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 25 years of healthcare experience. My work experience includes hospital and community mental health settings, serving patients with depression, anxiety, bipolar, schizophrenia, PTSD, dual diagnosis, and other conditions. The first step toward healing is an accurate diagnosis, followed by a combination of effective medication management, lifestyle changes, and therapy techniques. We will work together to garner your inner strengths, learn new coping skills, and leap over stumbling blocks that prevent you from living your best life. Seeking care is a personal choice - and a big one. At Encounter Wellness Mental Health Services, you will experience a compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental environment, either in person or virtually. We are committed to supporting the health, well-being, and healing of the human spirit. Our focus is on you and where you are in your journey. There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in." ― Leonard Cohen. Our goal is to “Empower you to empower yourself.” We are devoted to not only meeting but exceeding the standards of mental health care and our client's expectations. We look forward to assisting you in understanding and managing your mental health. We are excited to be nominated for the Cincinnati, Ohio, 2023 BBB Spark Award for Character, Culture, & Community!
We provide a therapeutic environment that is compassionate, empathetic, and safe for the patients to express their thoughts and fears freely. We aim to build a therapeutic alliance to enable you to move forward and progress in managing and understanding your mental health. My goal is to listen as well as "hear" what you are saying when discussing your symptoms, life events or medications.
In 10 years as a PMHNP, I have success treating patients in ages ranging from teens to geriatrics and every age group in between. My population is diverse and include multiple ethnic, gender and spiritual orientations. Enabling me to understand you and your life challenges whether at home in the workplace or maybe you "don't feel like yourself," requires active listening skills, empathy and compassion. I believe in treating the patient with a holistic approach. I do not prescribe stimulants.
My greatest strengths are empathy, active listening, and patience. Mental health and educating individuals about their mental health is one of my passions. Areas of special interest include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and PTSD.
