Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor based in North Carolina. I have been practicing for 11 years. I help individuals learn how to process life changes so that they can support themselves through life transitions. As a therapist, I am here to provide you with a safe and supportive space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Together, we will work collaboratively to identify your goals and develop personalized strategies to help you overcome challenges, cultivate resilience, and achieve greater well-being. With empathy, understanding, and evidence-based techniques, I am committed to supporting you on your journey toward growth and positive change.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a therapist, I believe my greatest strengths lie in my ability to establish a genuine and empathetic connection with my clients. I strive to create a safe and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported as they explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I also bring a collaborative and client-centered approach to therapy, recognizing that each individual is the expert in their own life. By actively involving clients in the therapeutic process and tailoring interventions to their unique needs and goals, I empower them to take ownership of their journey toward healing and growth. Furthermore, I draw upon a diverse range of therapeutic modalities and techniques, allowing me to adapt my approach to best meet the needs of each client. Whether incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, or other evidence-based practices, I strive to provide comprehensive and effective care that addresses the whole person. Ultimately, I am deeply committed to supporting my clients in achieving their goals, fostering resilience, and enhancing their overall well-being. My dedication to ongoing learning and professional development ensures that I remain informed about the latest research and best practices, allowing me to continuously refine and expand my skills as a therapist.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have found CBT to be effective in empowering clients to gain insight into their thought processes and develop practical skills to manage their symptoms. I work collaboratively with clients to set specific and achievable goals, utilizing techniques such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral experiments, and mindfulness exercises to promote positive change.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

MBT serves as a powerful tool for clients to connect with themselves more deeply, fostering a greater sense of self-awareness and self-compassion. Through various mindfulness practices such as meditation, body scans, and mindful movement, clients learn to cultivate a more balanced relationship with their thoughts and emotions, reducing reactivity and promoting greater emotional regulation.

Motivational Interviewing

I utilize MI techniques to support clients in identifying their own motivations for change, rather than imposing external agendas or directives. Through empathic listening, reflective questioning, and affirmations, I create a supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore their goals and values.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation serves as an essential tool for building rapport, reducing stigma, and promoting active engagement in therapy. By educating clients about the nature and symptoms of their specific mental health concerns, as well as the underlying mechanisms contributing to their distress, I help them develop a greater sense of insight and self-awareness.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

As a therapist, I implement Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) as a dynamic and goal-oriented approach to help clients identify and build upon their existing strengths and resources to create positive change in their lives. SFBT is grounded in the belief that clients are inherently capable of finding solutions to their problems, and the therapist's role is to facilitate this process by eliciting clients' own expertise and insights.
