Good Morning/Good Day, My name is Giovanna H Pennick. I am a licensed therapist in the state of Texas. I have earned a Masters in School Counseling and earned my License as a Professional Counselor certification (LPC). I have worked with students of all ages from K to graduate school. My eldest student just hit 84. The lifespan brings a variety of challenges and I am prepared to support you at every stage.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will be an opportunity to "Meet and Greet". I will invite you to share your background, challenges, and goals while you get a feel for my therapuetic style. If you feel we are a good fit, then I will invite you to continue to work with me as we build a rapport and build your "toolkit" to address your needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I hope my clients leave each and every session feel heard. We may not completely conquer every goal, YET I hope you feel a little less overwhelmed and a lot more confident to face the next day. One day, one step.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I encourage the use of research based tools and strategies to support the symptoms you may be presenting. Before considering a referral for medication, I strongly encourage clients to explore changes to their routine, daily habits, health, and balance. With intentionality and consistency, these strategies have been proven to support wellness. We will find what works best for you and your lifestyle.

Couples Counseling

Using a variety of strategies including exploring past relationships, communication, love languages, etc; I provide structure to build and restore communication, mindfulness and partnership.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Clients are encouraged to commit to at least 4 sessions or 30 days of therapy. In session, we focus on building solutions rather than eradicating problems—clients are not encouraged to analyze the hypothetical causes of their problems. Clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems.
