(she/her)
I have worked with a variety of clients in different settings over my career. I listen with compassion and understanding. I do not judge and encourage clients to make the best decisions for themselves and not what they think others expect. I work really hard to establish trust and and firm on maintaining confidentiality. I provide a safe space for people to be their authentic selves. I am always honored when clients allow me to be a part of their journey.
Our first session is an opportunity to talk and get to know each other a little. I understand I may not be the right therapist for every person and that's okay. I also don't expect sharing of deep secrets in the first session. It's important that I earn trust. I believe building a positive therapeutic relationship is key to a client's success.
I feel what makes me unique is that I am truly open to anything a client has to share. Nothing makes me uncomfortable and I am able to reassure client we will work together.
I work best with clients who are ready to engage and are willing to make healthy changes. I appreciate clients who are open to feedback and will accept gentle nudging to help them meet their goals. I encourage clients to present their authentic selves without fear of judgment. I enjoy working with clients may or may not have engaged in therapy in the past.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I've used CBT approaches regularly to assist clients. Together we identify problematic behaviors. We then explore the why and finally take steps to make healthy changes. We focus on making life long changes rather than short term fixes.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I meet clients where they are by focusing on what is currently creating challenges in their lives and then we work towards reducing or eliminating. This allows clients to learn how to empower themselves deal with stressors.
Strength-Based
I have used a strength-based approach throughout my career. I find it helps clients focus on strengths and building them to assist with everyday challenges. I encourage practicing self-care activities and behaviors rather then focusing on things tha may be out of their control.
