I bring over 23 years of experience helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges. My background includes 8 years in foster care and adoption, along with many years providing in-home support and therapy for children and families. For the past 13 years, I’ve worked extensively with co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns. I’ve supported mothers facing complex life stressors, and I’ve also led co-parenting groups and smoking cessation programs. My work is grounded in a straightforward, down-to-earth approach that focuses on real-life change, not just talking about problems. People often tell me they appreciate my ability to be present, practical, and easy to talk to. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time outdoors, being with my pets, and connecting with family and friends.
our first session is an opportunity for us to connect, get to know one another, and begin exploring what has brought you to counseling. Together, we will discuss your current challenges, personal goals, and the areas of life where you would like to see growth or healing. My goal is to provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable being yourself. Starting counseling can feel overwhelming at times, but reaching out is a courageous and meaningful step toward caring for yourself. You do not have to navigate things alone. When you are ready, I would be honored to walk alongside you as you begin your journey toward positive change and greater well-being.
With more than 23 years of experience in the human services field, including 13 years specializing in treatment for individuals facing co-occurring mental health and substance use challenges, I bring both depth of knowledge and genuine compassion to the counseling relationship. My approach is highly personalized because I believe no two people experience life, stress, or healing in the same way. Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all method, I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and humanistic techniques—to create a counseling experience that feels supportive, practical, and meaningful to you. Clients often appreciate my ability to balance professional expertise with warmth, authenticity, and real-world understanding. I strive to create a space where you can feel safe, respected, and truly heard while also feeling encouraged and empowered to make lasting, positive changes in your life.
I work best with individuals who are seeking support for their challenges and are ready to take an active role in their personal growth. My ideal client is someone who values a client-centered, eclectic approach to therapy; someone who is open to exploring different strategies and techniques tailored to their unique needs. You are willing to learn new skills and tools, reflect on your experiences, and apply what resonates to create meaningful change in your life. If you are looking for a supportive space where your goals, values, and strengths guide our work together, you may be a great fit for my approach.
