New to Grow
With 23 years of experience in social services, including 13 years providing treatment for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use challenges, I am passionate about supporting individuals through life’s complexities. I help clients develop practical skills to manage anger, stress, life transitions, co-parenting challenges, coping strategies, and self-esteem. My approach is client-centered and eclectic, tailored to meet each person where they are and empower them to create meaningful, lasting change.
During your first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and understanding your current challenges, goals, and what brought you to counseling. This session is a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can share openly while I listen carefully to your experiences.
* Experienced and Knowledgeable: Over 23 years in social services, with 13 years providing treatment for women with co-occurring mental health and substance use challenges. * Client-Centered Approach: I prioritize understanding each client’s unique experiences, values, and goals, tailoring interventions to meet individual needs. * Eclectic and Flexible: Skilled in combining approaches such as CBT, humanistic methods, and motivational interviewing to create practical, effective strategies. * Empathetic and Supportive: I create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful change.
I work best with individuals who are seeking support for their challenges and are ready to take an active role in their personal growth. My ideal client is someone who values a client-centered, eclectic approach to therapy; someone who is open to exploring different strategies and techniques tailored to their unique needs. You are willing to learn new skills and tools, reflect on your experiences, and apply what resonates to create meaningful change in your life. If you are looking for a supportive space where your goals, values, and strengths guide our work together, you may be a great fit for my approach.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a primary intervention in my counseling practice. CBT is an evidence-based approach that focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
Humanistic
I take a humanistic approach to counseling, which means I focus on creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
Motivational Interviewing
I use Motivational Interviewing (MI) as a collaborative, client-centered approach to help individuals explore and strengthen their motivation for change.
