Greetings, As a clinical psychologist with over 30 years of experience, I am prepared to help you address common psychological struggles. By guiding you to identify triggers and maladaptive behaviors, we can develop coping strategies to alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression. If there are underlying trauma issues, I have extensive experience working with those situations as well. Additionally, I have helped many clients struggling with behavioral medicine issues such as stress management, smoking cessation, and substance use. Once coping skills are in place to enhance functioning and help you feel a greater sense of control, we can explore your personal history and underlying factors which contribute to your difficulties, if desired. At regular intervals, we will evaluate your need and preference for ongoing therapy. Thus, treatment will be tailored for a limited problem-focused approach or an in-depth approach as warranted. I believe that a collaborative effort in therapy leads to the best outcome. You may be asked to track thoughts and behaviors for review in the sessions. Completing homework assignments are an important component of treatment. I look forward to being with you on your wellness and recovery journey. I have entered a limited number of appointment slots on the calendar; however, if you are interested please contact me to discuss other availability.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will do a brief introduction to establish rapport and determine if we are a good fit for your needs. Then we will outline your primary struggles, and begin to identify a plan for management of distress and a path to recovery.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have had good success connecting to clients and sustaining therapeutic relationships. I feel confident that we can find common ground and agreement to meet your treatment needs.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

We will work together to identify thought patterns which contribute to emotional distress and maladaptive behavior. We will restructure the unhelpful thoughts, and learn how to replace them with more helpful thoughts which lead to reduced emotional distress and increased adaptive behaviors.

Grief Therapy

We will address loss issues, recent and/or past, and work toward resolution of grief reactions, acknowledgement of the changes resulting from the loss, and acceptance of the loss.

Eclectic

A combination of approaches specific to the presenting issues can be tailored to individual needs.
