Welcome! I’m Emma, and I’m so glad you’re here. Taking the first step toward mental wellness can feel daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. My goal as a therapist is to help guide you through life’s challenges so that you can discover your true potential and build the life you truly deserve. I understand that starting therapy can be a big decision, and I want you to know that you're not alone in this process. I believe that you, as my client, are the expert in your own life, and my role is to help you tap into your inner strengths and resources. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, feeling “stuck”, or seeking personal growth, I’m here to listen, support, and walk alongside you on your journey toward emotional healing and mental wellness. Through counseling, we can explore what you need to feel better, and we’ll work together to create a path forward that’s in alignment with your values and goals. I use a strengths-based approach to help you recognize the skills and abilities you already have, empowering you to overcome challenges. I also draw on a person-centered approach, ensuring that you feel heard, understood, and respected in every session. If you’re ready to take that first step toward building the life you deserve, I’m here when you’re ready to share. Let’s work together to create the positive change you’re seeking.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we’ll begin with brief introductions so I can get to know a bit about you and your background. Then, we’ll dive into the specific challenges you’re currently facing. This allows us to start building a clear picture of what you’re experiencing, and it will help me understand your unique needs. From there, I can create a tailored plan to guide us through the therapeutic process in our follow-up sessions, focusing on strategies and tools that will best support your growth and healing.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

With over 6 years of experience in the mental health profession, I have developed a personalized approach to therapy that is designed to provide you with the skills, tools, and resources you need to achieve your individual goals.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on the idea that our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are all connected. The way we think about situations influences how we feel and act, and by changing the way we think, we can improve how we feel and behave. This can be especially helpful for individuals who struggle with anxiety and depression, as well as with intrusive thoughts that cause distress. The goal of CBT is to help you gain more control over your thoughts, feelings, and actions so that you can feel more empowered and confident in handling life’s challenges. It’s a collaborative process, so together, we’ll work to identify patterns and make lasting changes that improve your mental well-being.

Mind-body approach

In therapy, the mind-body approach focuses on the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and physical body. It recognizes that your mental and emotional experiences don’t just live in your mind—they can also show up physically in your body, such as tension, pain, or fatigue. By addressing both your mental and physical experiences, we can work to bring balance and healing to both parts of you.

Strength-Based

In therapy, a strengths-based approach focuses on your existing strengths, skills, and resources. Instead of just focusing on problems or what’s going wrong, this approach helps us look at what you’re already doing well and how you can use those strengths to overcome challenges. The idea is that you already have the inner resources you need to create positive change, and our work together will help you recognize and build on those.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

In therapy, the person-centered approach is all about creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can be your true self. The core idea behind this approach is that you have the capacity for growth and self-understanding, and that you already have the answers within you. My role as your therapist is to support you in finding those answers by providing empathy, acceptance, and understanding.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

In therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) focuses on helping you live a more meaningful and fulfilling life by accepting the things you can't control and committing to actions that align with your values. It’s not about trying to eliminate difficult thoughts or feelings, but rather learning how to deal with them in a healthier way, so they don’t control you or prevent you from living the life you want.
