My name is Danielle Jones. I am a graduate of Antioch University with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Since 2016 my experience has ranged from anxiety, depression and trauma to ADHD and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Experience and training have allowed me the privilege of working with adolescents and adults ranging from 15 and up as a mobile therapist and in office settings. Treatment modalities include but are not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma Focused- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Understanding the continuously changing environment and demands that impact mental health, I constantly look for and take advantage of educational opportunities of client-centered treatment modalities that ignite client participation for purposes of collaborative positive change. As a Clinical Mental Health Counselor my passion is bringing healing to people who are struggling with some of life’s challenges. I believe that helping people understand and connect to their thought processes creates the foundation for positive change. Using a personable and empathetic approach to understanding people’s challenges, I have made it my purpose to guide and support clients on their journey to achieving and maintaining an improved quality of life. Every treatment approach is unique to the specific needs/goals of the client. Therefore, I take pride in developing a strong, collaborative therapeutic relationship that allows clients the freedom to begin their healing process. I offer an environment that clients can feel safe in to explore and challenge themselves. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family (as I take on my new role as a grandmom), traveling and reading. I am a huge advocate for self-care and strongly encourage my clients to engage in self-care activities. Some of what I enjoy the most are decorating, gardening and crocheting as hobbies.
During the first session, clients can expect a brief introduction and to be introduced to to the modality I will use. They will receive the layout of the sessions and identify the goals they would like to achieve
With the focus of my work being in mood disorders, I am able to quickly get to the root cause and develop with the client's input strategies that focus on addressing their specific issues. This approach allows the client to track their own progress and see marked changes.
my skillset includes taking 2 classes that specifically focused on teaching DBT skills focusing on mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance and effective communication. I use this method in treating personality and mood disorders in particular.
I use CBT in conjunction with the DBT method in addressing mood disorders and personality disorders. Using CBT helps clients gain a better understanding of the connection between thoughts, feelings and behavior.
