About me

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who specializes in depression, anxiety, grief and trauma. I have a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and have extensive training in risk assessment, family therapy, sexual abuse and complex trauma. I like assessing the needs of my clients and then use a variety of proven therapy methods to help them resolve emotional and behavioral difficulties. After working in school and non-profit settings for several years, I saw a lot of people struggling with mental health issues that were not properly addressed. I felt called to provide children, adolescents, couples and adults with a safe space to explore and resolve these concerns. I look forward to helping you and your family.

The treatment methods and tools I utilize

Cognitive behavioral therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Mindfulness, and Functional Family Therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Creating a space to identify and challenge negative self-talk. Help client reframe their inner narrative.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with teens, adolescents, and adults who are at a point in their lives where they are ready to pause, reflect, and look inward. My ideal clients are those who are open to exploring their thoughts, feelings, and experiences with honesty and curiosity. They may be navigating life transitions, facing challenges in relationships, struggling with self-esteem, or seeking clarity about their goals and values. These clients are not necessarily looking for a quick fix, but rather a safe and supportive space to better understand themselves, build resilience, and create meaningful change. Whether it’s a young person learning to manage emotions and identity, or an adult seeking deeper self-awareness and growth, I work best with individuals who value introspection and are motivated to engage in the therapeutic process.

I felt that she listened and process d before responding, I love that. She was so inviting from the second we met, I felt completely comfortable.

As a first-time therapy client, Latoya has been fantastic and so easy to open up and speak freely to. She seemed to immediately understand me in ways I’d hope someone would, and in our short time, had offered many possible paths/solutions to things I’ve had trouble addressing.

I appreciated the care they took to ensure we were heard as we shared experience, especially our adult kids. And, what I observed was encouraging objectivity.
