About me

As a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) serving patients across Maryland and Virginia, I am committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges. I work closely with patients struggling with conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, and trauma-related issues. By offering thorough psychiatric evaluations, personalized treatment plans, and integrating therapeutic approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Compassion-Focused Therapy, I help patients develop effective coping skills, improve emotional resilience, and achieve greater stability in their daily lives. My mission is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where individuals feel heard, and empowered to take control of their mental health and experience meaningful, lasting improvements in their overall well-being.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session with me, you can expect a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where you feel safe to share your story. We’ll begin with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, where I’ll ask about your current concerns, mental health history, medical background, lifestyle, and any past treatments or medications. This is also a time for you to ask questions and share your goals for therapy and/or medication management. My approach is collaborative, so together we’ll start to outline a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs, whether that includes therapy, medication, or a combination of both. Most importantly, the first session is about building a trusting relationship and making sure you feel heard, supported, and empowered to move forward in your mental health journey.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about my therapeutic approach is the integrative, compassionate, and personalized care I provide. I combine evidence-based methods, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Compassion-Focused Therapy, with thoughtful medication management when appropriate. This holistic approach allows me to address both the biological and emotional aspects of mental health, helping clients achieve meaningful, long-term progress. I place a strong emphasis on building a trusting, collaborative relationship where clients feel genuinely seen and supported. My methods go beyond symptom management; I help clients gain insight, develop practical coping skills, and build emotional resilience. Clients often share that they feel more empowered, grounded, and hopeful after working with me, because the care they receive is not only clinically sound, but deeply human.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve individuals who are navigating the challenges of anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and panic-related symptoms, especially those who feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or stuck. I work with clients ages 8 and up who are ready to take meaningful steps toward emotional balance, clarity, and improved daily functioning. Whether you're seeking relief from constant worry, mood swings, low motivation, or difficulty focusing, my goal is to meet you where you are with empathy, evidence-based care, and a commitment to helping you feel more in control of your life.

My treatment methods

Compassion Focused

In my practice, I integrate Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT),and Mindfulness-Based Therapy, to support patients in developing healthier thinking patterns, emotional regulation, and a kinder relationship with themselves. CBT provides tools to identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, while mindfulness cultivates present-moment awareness and acceptance. Complementing these, CFT helps patients understand the impact of self-criticism and shame, and actively build compassion toward themselves and others. This combined approach fosters emotional balance, resilience, and personal growth, especially in individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and low self-esteem. By tailoring interventions to each individual’s needs, I aim to create a safe, supportive environment where healing and positive change can take root.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

In my practice, I integrate Mindfulness-Based Therapy with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to provide a comprehensive and holistic approach to mental health. CBT helps patients recognize and reframe unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, while mindfulness techniques support present-moment awareness and acceptance without judgment. This combination allows patients to better understand their internal experiences, manage emotional reactivity, and develop more adaptive responses to stress. By incorporating mindfulness practices such as breathing exercises, body scans, and meditation, patients build greater emotional resilience and self-compassion. Together, these approaches create a powerful framework for lasting change, especially in treating anxiety, depression, and stress-related conditions.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help patients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to their emotional distress. By working collaboratively, we explore the connections between thoughts, feelings, and actions, and develop practical strategies to promote healthier thinking and coping mechanisms. CBT empowers patients to take an active role in their healing process, fostering greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience. This evidence-based approach is especially effective for treating conditions such as anxiety, depression, and stress-related disorders, and I tailor each treatment plan to meet the unique needs and goals of each individual.
