As a Licensed Practical Counselor I am dedicated to providing compassionate and effective mental health support to individuals seeking guidance and healing. With a deep commitment to promoting wellness and empowerment, I have a wealth of experience and expertise in counseling. While I have worked with clients from all over the country, I hope to primarily work with clients from the state of Michigan since that is where I am licensed. I attended the University of Michigan for my Undergraduate education, and then attended Graduate School for Counseling at San Jose State.
Getting to know clients and their unique journey is my primary goal for the first session. Each client comes with their own unique situation and set of circumstances, and I like to get familiar with the client and what they have been dealing with lately. Also, being solution-focused, I do hope to brainstorm together and offer options and potential solutions to consider right from the start.
Having worked with clients for over 20 years, I have years of experience listening to clients and helping them pinpoint and articulate the challenges they are most struggling with. Likewise, having worked in several different settings over the years, I have seen certain themes of struggles play out, depending on the stage of life, but also realize that each client is unique and comes with their own set of circumstances.
I have worked in the Clinical setting and also have over 20 years of Counseling experience in an educational setting. Having worked in middle schools, high schools, as well as at the college setting, I am very familiar with the various challenges that can be present for different age groups. I also have worked quite a bit with clients who struggle with "too much on my plate" and find that their mental wellness has struggled as a result. Similarly, I have helped guide several clients over the years who struggle with major transitions in life. Lastly, I feel like I can assist clients who either have experienced a Cancer diagnosis or are a Caregiver to someone who does have a diagnosis. Getting this medical news can be difficult to digest, much less navigate through the new road ahead, and with my experience, I hope to help those on this journey.

Integrative
Rather than subscribing to one single modality, I believe there is a time and and a place where certain modalities will be more applicable than others. And in many situations, more than one modality can be useful.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
Just like I am an advocate of an integrative approach, I do try to tailor my approach to the specific person in front of me. Each person has their own set of beliefs, backgrounds and ways of doing things, so I try to be sensitive to the individual and their specific set of needs.
Eclectic
Every client is different with their experiences, personality, and frame of mine Therefore, I use an eclectic approach when working with clients, rather than a one-size fits all method,
