Hello! I am Marissa Whitter, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Master’s Level Certified Addiction Professional. I obtained my master’s from Troy University in Counseling and Psychology and bachelor’s from Florida State University. As a psychotherapist and addictions counselor, my goal is to provide you with quality psychotherapy and therapy services. I am passionate about mental health and love seeing my clients reach their full potential.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

As a psychotherapist and addictions counselor, creating a place to grow, be empowered, and heal is my main focus. My goal is to meet you where you are and provide empathic listening while creating a safe place to grow and develop healthy coping skills. At our first session, i will take my time and get to know more about your mental health history and how that impacts your current life dynamics. You can expect a warm, client lead therapy session, that will open up the pathway to a great therapeutic relationship over time.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe that everyone deserves therapy and an opportunity to express emotional experiences. I believe in the power of empathy and how understanding and listening can create a place of growth and healing. We all deserve a right to be heard, no matter the experiences. As a therapist, that has also utilized therapy, i know it works. I believe in community and the power of valuable support. Compassion, Affirmation, and Empathy are the tools that create change!
