About me

Hello! My name is Faheda Rasool and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). I live in the sunny state of Florida and hold licenses to practice in Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Michigan, Wyoming, and Hawaii. I practice virtually for my clients' convenience. My therapeutic style is warm, curious, and empathic. I mostly utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in my practice, though I also incorporate aspects of ACT, DBT, solution focused, and strength based perspectives in my approach. Throughout our time together, we will identify some primary challenges and create goals for our treatment plan. As sessions progress, these goals will be checked in on to assess for progress. Therapy is a great space to explore negative thoughts, feelings, and emotions, as well as challenges that may be sudden, or lingering for a while. This is a great space to gain new insight and perspective while learning more about yourself as you continue your own growth journey. As always, please remember that therapy is a judgment free zone. I am here for you!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session together, I'd like to know more about what brings you to the therapeutic space. I'll explore some details just as family history, biggest stressors, current coping mechanisms, what brings you joy and calmness, and what you're hoping to achieve in this space. With this information, we'll create a treatment plan together with some goals that we can reference throughout the course of care

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am a very empathetic and supportive individual and definitely this translates into my profession! It's hard when you're facing a challenge and feel as though you're going through it alone or that no one understands. Having a safe space to explore and express yourself towards someone who listens and can help guide can be crucial in overcoming hurdles

Trauma Informed Care

It's important to recognize and acknowledge the impact that trauma has had on an individual's life when beginning therapy so that clients feel physically and emotionally safe during our time together

Pyschoeducation is a core component of my sessions as this provides education on interventions we will be introducing for change

Daialectical Behavior (DBT)
