Biography: Greetings! Thank you for stopping by my profile! Even if “just passing through", you're on a journey, and I'm glad to be even a tiny part of it! You may be confused about where to begin...there are lots of counselors with all different styles. Maybe you see so much on TikTok about therapy, but you aren't sure if you need shadow work, CBT, EMDR or DBT. I have good news! You don't need to know! Its great to have an understanding of modern therapy tools and terms, but it is NOT necessary. You only need open your mind to new things (maybe more than a few times!) and learn to listen to your instincts. That's all! It might take a few tries, but it will be worth it- and so are you! A little about me- I became a licensed professional counselor in 2002. Since then I've worked with many different types of folks in many settings. I particularly enjoy working with young adults through middle age. I specialize in treating ADHD, Anxiety & Addiction (which includes overspending, gambling & overeating!) I also work with non-clinical issues such as Career changes, Perfectionism, Generational Trauma, Estrangement and Grief. Whether you have a specific problem or you're stuck navigating ‘life on life's terms’ , I will help you harness the power of human resilience. My approach with all problems is help ignite your individual, lifelong process of discovery and recovery . Age & experience has taught me that all my clients share something in common - the need for unconditional connection and the desire to explore. Does that sound like you? Then let's begin!
What to Expect in Your First Session Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and I want you to feel as comfortable as possible from the beginning. Our first session is about getting to know each other and setting the foundation for our work together. We’ll start by discussing what brought you to therapy, your goals, and any concerns or questions you have. I’ll ask about different aspects of your life, including past experiences, current challenges, and what’s worked or not worked for you before. This helps me understand your unique needs and how I can best support you. You won’t be expected to dive into everything at once—this is a space for us to build trust and move at a pace that feels right for you. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling heard, understood, and confident about the next steps. Whether you come in with a clear focus or are still figuring things out, we’ll work together to create a path forward that feels meaningful to you.
My greatest strength as a therapist comes from my lived experience. I understand, on a deep and personal level, what it means to struggle, to question, and to work toward meaningful change. This isn’t just theory for me—I know firsthand how challenging and transformative the healing process can be. Because of this, I bring more than just clinical expertise to our sessions. I bring genuine empathy, nonjudgmental understanding, and a deep respect for the courage it takes to show up and do this work. I won’t ask you to do anything I wouldn’t be willing to do myself, and I believe in therapy not just as a profession, but as a powerful tool for growth. My experience allows me to connect with clients in an authentic way, helping them feel truly seen and understood. I know that healing isn’t linear, that progress can be messy, and that small steps can lead to big changes. No matter where you are in your journey, I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion, honesty, and a belief in your ability to create the life you want.
Working Together Therapy is most effective when we approach it as a partnership. I work best with clients who are ready to engage in the process—whether you're highly motivated for change or still in the early stages of considering it. You don’t need to have everything figured out or feel confident every step of the way—just a willingness to be honest, open-minded, and curious about new possibilities. Even if you're feeling stuck or uncertain, we can explore what’s holding you back and find ways to move forward at a pace that feels right for you. Through reflection, practical strategies, and evidence-based approaches, we’ll work together to challenge unhelpful patterns, develop new skills, and create meaningful change. I’ll bring insight, guidance, and a collaborative approach—you bring your experiences and a willingness to show up. No matter where you are in your journey, I’m here to help you take the next step.
I believe that every individual is unique, and their path to healing should be just as personalized. As an eclectic therapist, I draw from a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to tailor treatment to your specific needs, strengths, and goals. Rather than adhering to a single method, I integrate techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, humanistic approaches, and more. This flexibility allows me to adapt strategies based on what works best for you—whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, or personal growth. My approach is collaborative, meaning we work together to explore what resonates most with you. By combining different therapeutic perspectives, I create a dynamic and responsive process that fosters meaningful change. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and with an eclectic approach, I ensure that your journey is as unique as you are.
I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to treat OCD and related disorders to help you confront fears, intrusive thoughts, or distressing situations in a structured and supportive way. Together, we’ll identify the specific triggers that cause anxiety and gradually expose you to them in a controlled manner—always at a pace that feels manageable for you. As you face these challenges, I will guide you in resisting compulsive behaviors or avoidance, helping your brain learn that anxiety naturally decreases over time. This process empowers you to build confidence, tolerate uncertainty, and break free from the cycle of obsessive thoughts and compulsions. ERP can feel difficult, but you won’t go through it alone. I provide a safe and collaborative space, tailoring each step to your needs so you can regain control and create lasting change.
I may incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop psychological flexibility—the ability to be present, accept thoughts and emotions without judgment, and take meaningful action aligned with their values. Rather than trying to eliminate difficult thoughts or feelings, ACT focuses on changing your relationship with them so they no longer control your decisions or behaviors. Together, we’ll explore mindfulness strategies, acceptance techniques, and values-based goal setting to help you break free from unhelpful patterns. Through ACT, you can learn to navigate discomfort, increase resilience, and build a life driven by purpose and authenticity, rather than fear or avoidance.
I may use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. CBT is a structured, evidence-based approach that focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions. By recognizing negative thinking patterns and learning practical coping strategies, you can develop healthier responses to life’s challenges. Together, we’ll work on building skills to manage anxiety, depression, stress, and other concerns. Through CBT, you can gain greater self-awareness, improve problem-solving abilities, and create lasting, positive changes in your daily life.
I may use Enhanced Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients navigate ambivalence and build motivation for meaningful change. This collaborative, client-centered approach is designed to empower you by exploring your values, strengths, and personal reasons for change—without pressure or judgment. Through open-ended conversations, reflective listening, and strategic questions, we’ll work together to uncover barriers, resolve uncertainty, and strengthen your confidence in taking action. Whether you're working through life transitions, behavioral changes,
