With over 14 years of experience as a therapist, I bring a compassionate, collaborative, and client-centered approach to every session. I believe that each individual is the expert in their own life, and my role is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered. My work is rooted in active listening and genuine connection. Together, we’ll explore the challenges you’re facing, identify meaningful goals, and build the tools and confidence you need to move forward. Whether you're navigating a major life transition, managing stress, healing from past experiences, or simply seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, I’m here to walk alongside you on your journey.
The first session is all about getting to know each other and laying the foundation for a strong therapeutic relationship. You can expect a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free space where your comfort and privacy are my top priority. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, explore any goals or concerns you have, and begin to understand what support looks like for you. I may ask questions about your history, current challenges, and what you'd like to gain from our work together, but there’s no pressure to share anything you’re not ready to discuss. This session is also a chance for you to ask questions, get a feel for my style, and decide if this feels like the right fit. My goal is for you to leave that first conversation feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about what’s possible through therapy. Whether you’re feeling nervous, uncertain, or even a bit skeptical, that’s okay. You’re taking a brave first step, and I’m here to meet you exactly where you are.
What sets my therapeutic practice apart is a strong foundation in motivational interviewing, which allows me to empower individuals to explore and resolve ambivalence toward change in a nonjudgmental, collaborative way. I meet each person exactly where they are emotionally, mentally, and situationally, ensuring that treatment is personalized and accessible. I bring a deep commitment to active listening, creating a space where clients feel truly heard and validated. This opens the door for building trust and fostering meaningful therapeutic relationships. I also specialize in developing practical and tailored coping strategies that clients can apply in real-life situations. My background in crisis intervention equips me to support clients through acute stress and emotional upheaval while also building long-term coping skills to promote resilience and self-efficacy. Ultimately, my approach is strengths-based, collaborative, and grounded in empathy, helping clients not only manage challenges but also uncover their own capacity for growth and healing.
I am best positioned to support individuals who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about the next steps in their lives. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, or the lingering effects of past trauma, I work alongside you to uncover your strengths, clarify your goals, and move toward lasting change. I especially enjoy working with those who are ready to do the inner work. Clients who may not have it all figured out yet but who are open, curious, and committed to their growth. Together, we’ll explore patterns that no longer serve you, build healthier ways of coping, and help you reconnect with the version of yourself that feels most authentic and empowered. If you’re looking for a therapist who will listen without judgment, challenge you gently, and honor your lived experience. I’d be honored to walk that path with you.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, short-term form of psychotherapy that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. It is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, and that changing unhelpful thoughts can lead to changes in emotions and actions. CBT is goal-oriented and collaborative; as the therapist, I will guide the client in developing coping strategies and healthier thinking habits.
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a client-centered, directive counseling style used to enhance a person's motivation to change by exploring and resolving ambivalence. In a therapy session I would create a safe, empathetic environment by listening without judgement and working with the client to identify a clear direction or area of change to explore. Also, explore client’s mixed feelings regarding change and elicit “change talk.”
Mindfulness-based therapy is a therapeutic approach that integrates mindfulness practices, such as focused breathing, body awareness, and present-moment observation, into traditional psychological treatment. In a therapy session, I will help clients become more aware of their thoughts, emotions, and sensations without reacting impulsively or judgmentally.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is a structured, evidence-based treatment designed to help clients overcome the impact of traumatic experiences, such as abuse, violence, or loss. In a therapy session, I will educate the client and caregivers about trauma and its effects and teach coping skills. We will work on identifying and expressing emotions appropriately as well as learn how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected and how to challenge unhelpful thoughts.
Person-Centered Therapy (also called Rogerian Therapy) emphasizes creating a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where the client feels safe to explore their thoughts and feelings. The core belief is that people have an innate tendency toward growth and healing when provided with the right conditions. As the therapist, I will creates a safe, warm environment by uses reflective listening and encouraging self-awareness and acceptance.
