I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) through the Texas State Board of Professional Counselors. I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Texas in Denton, TX, and my master’s degree in Counseling at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, TX. I completed the certification process for LPC Supervision at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX. I am also EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) trained. I have been practicing therapy for 9 years. Much of my work has been with trauma survivors. I have worked with the homeless population, domestic violence, and foster care. Many of my clients are survivors of sexual and physical abuse and assault, traumatic grief, and domestic violence.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I work primarily with clients struggling with the aftereffects of difficult experiences. During our initial sessions, we will discuss current issues, collaborate in creating therapeutic goals and create a plan that will help you successfully achieve those goals. Most of my clients experience a gradual lift in symptoms within the first month and continue to progressively improve thereafter.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe healing involves not just our minds but our entire beings. This is why I use a combination of cognitive talk therapies, mindfulness, body awareness, and EMDR. This equips you with a larger array of strategies for combating oppressive thoughts, gaining control over your emotions, and the ability to process trauma.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My passion is helping adults who struggle with negative self-image, anxiety, depression, and triggers associated with trauma. For over 10 years I have worked at helping clients restore a healthier sense of self. Contact me today for a free consultation.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Your emotions are very much connected to your thoughts. CBT allows us to evaluate what thoughts are creating or heightening difficult emotions and identify ways to change them and the way you are feeling.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Connecting with emotions can be difficult particularly without tools for managing them. DBT provides us with tangible tools to use to help gain more control of your emotions, heighten self-awareness, and improve communication.

EMDR

Sometimes negative thoughts and emotions can feel stuck. EMDR provides a way to "unstick" negative thoughts and emotions tied to traumatic experiences.
