Hello, my name is Shira, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor here in Florida. I specialize in supporting both individuals—male and female—especially young adults and adolescents, as they navigate career stress, peer relationships, and major life transitions. I also work with young women through the changes that come with marriage and other life stages. As a therapist, my goal is to create a space where clients feel truly heard, supported, and valued. Together, we work through life’s journey, empowering clients to become the best version of themselves, live a happier life, and grow closer to G-d, fostering growth, healing, and self-discovery.
In our first session, clients can expect a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental space where we begin to explore what brings them to therapy. I will listen closely to understand their unique challenges, whether it's navigating career stress, relationship issues, or transitioning into new life stages. We’ll discuss their goals for therapy and what they hope to achieve, and I will work with them to create a plan that aligns with their personal values. My approach is collaborative, so clients will have an active role in their journey toward healing, growth, and living a happier life. We will also start to explore ways to connect more deeply with G-d, if that’s important to them. Ultimately, the first session sets the tone for a supportive and empowering therapeutic relationship.
One of my greatest strengths as a provider is my ability to truly listen and understand each client’s unique needs and experiences. Over the years, I’ve honed my skills in helping clients identify the root causes of their challenges, whether they’re related to career stress, relationship struggles, or life transitions. I use a thoughtful, tailored approach to create individualized plans that focus on measurable progress and long-term growth. I believe in collaborating with my clients, empowering them to be active participants in their journey, while providing a supportive environment where they feel safe to open up and explore solutions. My experience and personalized approach help ensure that each client moves closer to living a happier, more fulfilling life.
I am best positioned to serve young adults and adolescents, both male and female, who are navigating life transitions such as career stress, peer relationship challenges, or major milestones like marriage. I am particularly attuned to the needs of young women going through life changes and those who may feel overwhelmed or unsure during these pivotal moments. My work is focused on helping individuals, regardless of gender, feel supported, heard, and valued as they work through their unique challenges
I have found Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness to be incredibly effective tools in my practice, especially when working with individuals facing stress, anxiety, or life transitions. Through CBT, I help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns that may be contributing to their challenges. By shifting these thoughts, clients can begin to change their emotional responses and behaviors, leading to greater clarity and personal growth. Incorporating mindfulness into this process allows clients to become more aware of their thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations in the present moment without judgment. This practice helps reduce stress, increase self-compassion, and improve emotional regulation. I guide my clients in developing mindfulness techniques such as deep breathing, grounding exercises, and body scans to build resilience and stay grounded through difficult moments. Together, CBT and mindfulness create a powerful combination to help clients gain insight, develop coping strategies, and improve their overall well-being, allowing them to move forward in a more balanced and empowered way.
Through MI, I create a safe space where clients feel empowered to voice their concerns, explore their values, and work through any barriers they may be facing. Instead of telling clients what to do, I ask open-ended questions and use reflective listening to help them discover their own reasons for making positive changes. This strengthens their commitment to taking action and increases their confidence in their ability to create the life they want. By combining MI with other therapeutic techniques like CBT and mindfulness, I help clients build the internal drive they need to overcome challenges, develop healthier habits, and move forward with a greater sense of self-efficacy and purpose.
In my practice, I place a strong emphasis on providing consistent support to my clients as they navigate their challenges. Whether working through career stress, relationship difficulties, or life transitions, I focus on creating a compassionate and non-judgmental space where clients feel truly heard and understood. The support I offer is centered around understanding their unique experiences, validating their feelings, and working together to find solutions that feel right for them
