I practice trauma informed care, utilizing a strength based, client centered approach to treatment with a focus on developing a strong working alliance. My treatment modalities are eclectic, there is no one size fits all. My goal is to help you remove barriers, to enhance your mental, physical, and spiritual well being. I use emotionally focused therapy to help I am an animal and nature lover. I practice yoga and mindfulness.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During your first session we get to know each other. You share your why for seeking therapy and we establish some preliminary goals and objectives. As a humanistic therapist I explore your potential. Therapy is a relational process and I provide a little background about myself and what motivates my commitment to help others. I lay the foundation for establishing a therapeutic rapport. Research has proven that the most effective component of therapy is the relationship between the therapist and the client. I believe that the collaboration and connection with therapist and client is the most important factor in the therapeutic process.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am a tenacious individual who does not give up easily. I am optimistic and are constantly seeking self-improvement through study, yoga, and meditation. Naturally curious I seek ways to help improve the lives of others as well as myself. I take my work with others very seriously and I'm constantly seeking knowledge and ways to hone my skills. Additionally, I'm a trained behavior analyst so I rely on empirically researched based interventions with proven positive outcomes.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

As a humanistic therapist I empower individuals to take ownership other feelings and actions to make positive changes in their lives. I utilize Psychodynamic Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy to help clients change their perspective and heal from past experiences that negatively impact them in the present. Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). EFT is a present-focused form of therapy that identifies how you form relationships, maintain, and act in a relationship with yourself and others. Originally developed for couples therapy, EFT helps individuals and couples identify emotional patterns, learn to regulate emotions and more accurately identify needs, and re-wire painful patterns of relating. Psychodynamic Therapy is an in-depth form of talk therapy focused on building insight into your relationship with yourself, others, and the external world. Psychodynamic therapies focus on exploring unconscious motivations, early life experiences, and relationship patterns through the therapeutic relationship.

Eclectic

With Trauma Informed care as the backdrop, I utilize various treatment modalities depending on client needs and level of functioning.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have over 17 years working with families and children where I've used CBT to help clients change their behavior and negative thoughts.
