Hi, I’m Shelby! Congrats on taking the first step towards achieving the peace you deserve. You’ve done the hard part already, and I’d love to help you the rest of the way. I believe that we are all doing the best we can, AND we will always have areas to improve. I am extremely passionate about helping people gain a deeper understanding about themselves and identify behavioral patterns that no longer benefit them. By teaching new approaches to common obstacles, my clients feel empowered to live happier and healthier lives.
Our work together will be a collaborative effort as we identify both short and long-term goals that suit your specific needs. You’ll leave each session with actionable strategies for you to try without the pressure of “homework.”
Most of my clients describe me as relaxed and outgoing. If you are looking for someone who is easy to talk to, non-judgmental, and will support you through your journey... I'm ready to start when you are!

CBT is a well-researched therapeutic approach used to treat a wide variety of symptoms. Because it focuses on the association between thoughts, feelings, and actions, I help clients identify and change unhealthy patterns that may be holding them back.
Sometimes the unthinkable happens. By integrating trauma-sensitive interventions into traditional CBT, I've helped many clients gain a better insight into their experiences and learn how to ease the emotional distress. This approach is particularly effective when working with children, adolescents, and young adults who have experienced a form of abuse.
DBT was created as an adaptation of traditional CBT to support individuals who experience their emotions more intensely than others. Using a DBT model, I have helped many clients learn to accept the reality of their uncontrollable circumstances and improve their ability to make healthy choices.
Change can be intimidating, and we aren't always ready. Motivational Interviewing is an evidenced-based approach that seeks to help individuals realize their goals by gaining a better understanding of what's most important.
It is a well-researched fact that children not only learn best through play, but they also process their feelings on a deeper level as well. For over 5 years, I have worked with children using a Play Therapy orientation. I'm skilled at helping youth better understand their experiences and learn how to gain control over them in a way that is fun and meaningful to them.
