About me

Hi! I'm a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) based in Minnesota. I have been in the mental health field for over 16 years in a variety of roles and settings. I utilize a variety of regulation and relation-based interventions to address stress, trauma, and symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other conditions. I’m a science geek at heart which means I actively incorporate current research and science into everyday applications.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session generally goes by quickly and is a chance for you to tell me what brings you to therapy (big picture) and what you are hoping to get out of therapy. Through initial assessment questions, I hope to get a good general sense of who you are and how I can best help you. You can expect me to be open, direct, and transparent with the questions I ask and how that information will help move therapy forward. In this first interaction, you will get a good sense of who I am and my vibe to be able to consider if this therapy relationship will feel like a good fit.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring a lot of passion to what I do in connection with others. I provide therapy and wellbeing services from a feminist and multi-cultural perspective. You will quickly find my clinical approach to be relaxed, relatable, and professional. My peers most frequently tell me that I am particularly skilled at seeing the best sides of a person and leveraging that to ground people in their true authentic selves.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I tend to connect best with clients who consider themselves to be high achievers/high performers or black sheeps. Clients who think change is possible, are ready for change, but unsure where to start or how to get unstuck bring energy into our sessions that support forward movement in therapy. I enjoy getting connected with goals that clients have and walking alongside clients in this process, through the hard and through the wins. I am very outcome driven and want to get to that finish line as much as my clients do.

Trauma Informed Care

As an AIR Network trained provider, I come from a feminist and multi-cultural perspective. This means sessions are focused around orienting to present, regulating in and outside of sessions, resourcing our best selves, and honoring the dignity of the person (beyond experiences, barriers, behaviors, etc). I also consider the context of client experiences, that all that we experience happen in a developmental context and a society/culture of norms context.
