This initial evaluation helps me develop a personalized treatment plan that may include medication, therapy, or both. You can expect a supportive, judgment-free space where you’re encouraged to speak openly at your own pace. You're welcome to bring questions or share anything you'd like me to know. My goal is to make you feel heard, understood, and empowered to take the next steps toward wellness.

My treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

I have integrated Motivational Interviewing (MI) into my clinical practice for several years to support patients struggling with ambivalence around treatment, lifestyle changes, or medication adherence. I use MI to create a nonjudgmental space that empowers patients to explore their values, identify internal motivation, and set achievable goals. This approach helps build trust, reduce resistance, and foster lasting behavioral change, especially in individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, substance use, or low engagement in care.

Psychoeducation

I regularly use psychoeducation to help patients and families understand mental health conditions, treatment options, and medication effects. By providing clear, tailored information, I empower patients to make informed decisions, reduce stigma, and improve treatment adherence. It’s a key part of building therapeutic alliance and promoting long-term recovery.

Supportive

I incorporate supportive therapy to provide patients with a safe, empathetic space to process emotions, build coping skills, and strengthen resilience. I use this approach to reinforce positive behaviors, validate experiences, and help patients navigate life stressors. It’s especially effective in managing chronic mental health conditions, promoting stability, and enhancing the therapeutic alliance.

Compassion Focused

I use principles of Compassion-Focused Therapy to help patients reduce self-criticism, shame, and emotional distress by cultivating self-kindness and emotional safety. CFT techniques such as guided imagery, soothing rhythm breathing, and compassionate mind training are especially helpful for individuals with trauma, anxiety, or mood disorders. This approach fosters greater self-acceptance and emotional regulation in my practice.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I incorporate mindfulness-based therapy techniques to help patients develop present-moment awareness, reduce reactivity, and improve emotional regulation. I often use breathing exercises, grounding techniques, and guided mindfulness practices alongside supportive therapy and medication management. This approach is particularly helpful for patients experiencing anxiety, depression, or trauma-related symptoms, and it supports long-term emotional resilience.
