Great to Meet You! I’m Dr. Michelle S. McBride, DNP, PMHNP-BC, MBA, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive mental health care. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Rush University in Chicago, IL. Before obtaining my doctorate, I was a board-certified psychiatric registered nurse, gaining extensive experience across various clinical settings, including inpatient psychiatry, psychiatric emergency services, community behavioral health, and forensic psychiatry (jail-based care).
What to Expect in Your First Session There’s no need to feel nervous! Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We will discuss your concerns, background, and treatment goals while working toward a clear plan that suits your needs. Together, we’ll explore treatment options, ensuring you feel confident in the next steps toward your well-being.
My Approach to Therapy Listening is my greatest strength! I believe in a collaborative, patient-centered approach to treatment. Educating my patients is a key part of my practice because informed patients can make empowered decisions about their care. After a thorough assessment, I take the time to explain all available treatment options—including therapy approaches, medication choices, and holistic interventions—so that we can create a plan that aligns with your comfort level and goals.

Mrs. McBride was skilled in a lot of the mood disorders and mental illnesses I suffer from. She was very helpful in diagnosing me, and we are working on skills to help me cope with my mental illnesses, mood disorders, and disabilities.
