Hello, I'm Brian. Thank you for taking the time to consider me as your therapist. I applaud you as you are taking the first step in healing and moving forward in your life and relationships. In my therapy I take a strength-based approach, helping you find those strengths you've had before. I work with both COUPLES and INDIVIDUALS. When working with couples we will work on improving your communication, resolving conflicts, gaining better understanding, and feeling better understood. When working with individuals, we will learn how to manage negative thoughts, improve your relationships, calm your fears, and increase your motivation. Whether you are coming to therapy by yourself, or with your partner, I want to be able to help. I look forward to working with you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, I will be gaining more background information about you and what you are hoping to accomplish in therapy. Subsequent sessions will include talking about your concerns, goals, and how to best move forward. There will be times when I listen and other times when I provide new insights and direction. When doing couples therapy, it is very important that I am fair. I work diligently to not side with one person or the other. Throughout the course of therapy, there will be times when each of you may speak and other times when I will ask you to talk with each other.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Treatment methods I use include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - Challenging negative thoughts, learning new behaviors. Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) - Improving understanding between partners and drawing closer to each other. Strength-Based approach - Discovering the strengths you already possess for healing
