Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s completely normal to feel a little nervous at first. My goal is to make our first session together as comfortable, supportive, and easygoing as possible. We'll begin by getting to know each other. I’ll ask you to share a bit about what brings you to therapy and what you're hoping to get out of it. There’s no pressure to have all the answers right away—this is a space where you can go at your own pace. During this first meeting, I’ll also go over some basic intake questions to learn more about your background, strengths, and any concerns you may be experiencing. This helps me better understand your story and how I can support you. We’ll talk about things like: *What’s been going on in your life recently *Any patterns or challenges you’ve noticed *What goals you’d like to work toward (even if you’re not sure yet) At the heart of this session is rapport building, getting comfortable with each other and creating a trusting space where you feel heard, respected, and supported. You’re welcome to ask questions about me, share as much or as little as you’re ready for, and take your time. This is your space, and I’m here to walk alongside you as we begin this journey toward insight, healing, and growth.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths are that I’m authentic, genuine, and full of positive energy. I truly care about people, and I bring my real self into every session so you can feel safe, seen, and supported without judgment. I’m especially passionate about helping clients who may feel overlooked or misunderstood, particularly in communities where mental health and substance use are often stigmatized. I focus on creating a space where you can be yourself, talk openly, and work toward real change. My approach is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and based on the belief that your identity and life experiences matter. I use tools like the ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) assessment to better understand how past challenges may still be affecting your life today. By honoring your story and bringing both heart and high energy into our work, I help you build emotional strength, healthier habits, and a life that feels more balanced and meaningful.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am excited to work together with individuals who are motivated for personal growth and open to exploring how therapy can support and remove barriers to create a more fulfilling life. Clients who often benefit from my therapeutic approaches are: *Curious about the benefits of therapy and ready to take an active role in their emotional well-being. *Interested in building emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and resilience. *Seeking to develop or strengthen healthy coping strategies for managing stress, grief, anxiety, depression, or life transitions. *Wanting to improve interpersonal relationships, communication skills, and better understand how they relate to others. *Focused on either transitioning to a healthier, more balanced quality of life, or maintaining the emotional well-being they’ve worked hard to build. Whether you’re navigating a significant life change, traumatic event, managing long-standing emotional challenges, or simply wanting to invest in your mental and emotional wellness, I offer a space that’s supportive, authentic, person-centered, and growth-oriented. Together, we can explore what’s working, what’s holding you back, and how to move forward in a way that aligns with your values, goals, and personal vision for a meaningful life. I am excited to become one of your guides on your journey to healing, resilience and an overall Awesome life.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I regularly use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to support my clients in building psychological flexibility which assist my clients with the ability to stay present, open up to difficult experiences, and take committed action aligned with personal values. ACT is especially helpful for individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, and chronic pain.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the evidence-based methods I utilize in my clinical work with my clients. My training and experience with CBT have allowed me to effectively help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and to develop skills that promote long-term emotional and behavioral change.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I utilize a culturally sensitive approach to ensure that treatment is not only evidence-based, but also respectful, relevant, and responsive to each client’s cultural identity, values, and lived experience. I recognize that cultural background—including race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, immigration status, and generational history—deeply influences how individuals perceive mental health, emotional expression, and healing.

Christian Counseling

I recognize the powerful role that faith and spirituality—particularly within the Christian tradition—can play in a person’s healing journey. For clients who desire it, I integrate Christian-based treatment methods into our therapeutic work, ensuring that interventions align not only with clinical best practices, but also with the client’s spiritual values and beliefs.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a highly effective, evidence-based treatment developed for individuals with emotion dysregulation, borderline personality disorder, and chronic suicidal ideation. Over time, DBT has proven to be beneficial for a wide range of conditions, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, eating disorders, and substance use disorders—particularly when emotional intensity and impulsivity are central concerns.
