Welcome! Let me tell you a little about myself. I have a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Murray State University in Murray, KY. I have been a licensed professional counselor (LPC) for the state of Texas since 2012 and for the state of Georgia since 2017. Are you struggling to keep up with work and health? Is it hard to be kind to yourself? Together, we can identify your options and develop a plan of action to get you back on track. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, have daily lifestyle issues, or have cycles of anxiety and depression, I'm here to assist you. Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can feel empowered and strong. Let's work together!
First session
During the first session, I review the basics of therapy and then we discuss what brings you to therapy at this time. I will also ask detailed questions about different aspects of your life that may be impacting your emotional distress or vice versa. By the end of the session, we will discuss a plan of action moving forward if you decide to continue with me.
Strengths
I work with adults usually aged 25 years or older who are experiencing grief, depression, anxiety, or difficulty with life transitions. I also assist adult clients who are experiencing excessive stress or stressors in their daily lives. Please note I offer virtual sessions on Saturdays and Sundays ONLY. No appointments during the week or in-person.
Ideal clients
I often have clients who are 35 years or older. These individuals have a history of trauma, depression, anxiety, or may be currently dealing with daily life stressors or minor life complications. Many of my clients are female; however, I have some male clients as well. My clients want to be gently guided and given honesty and transparency as they journey towards increasing their coping strategies and fortifying their mental health.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I was trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in my graduate program. I utilize various techniques from CBT in addition to Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy.
