(she/her)
I am a licensed Marriage and Family therapist in California. I also am a Licensed Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor in California. I have 20 years experience and help individuals with anxiety, depression, substance abuse and adjustment to life changes. I specialize in the unique needs of our older adult LGBTQ adult community. Individuals who reach out to me for therapy are facing issues related to life changes such as retirement, coming out and relationship issues. I focus on client centered therapy and listen carefully to the needs and goals of my clients. Together we can explore what you want and your motivation for change leading to improved sense of balance and well being. I offer a non judgmental and open listening space to help individuals regain a sense of improved self esteem along with mastery over disruptive symptoms that have caused distress in the past. Reaching out for the help of a therapist during challenging times in your life is an action of strength and courage.
In our first session we will have opportunity to briefly introduce ourselves and then I will begin to listen to your unique challenges that brought you to therapy. We will create a plan of action to address your immediate challenges.
I have worked in my private practice since 2006. I have over 20 years experience in helping individuals with managing recovery from addictive substances, anxiety, depression and changes in their life circumstances. As a member of the LGBTQ community I understand the challenges faced by our community with acceptance, safety and belonging to society. I am non judgmental, mature and experienced with a diverse group of individuals seeking relief from their problems.
I am dedicated to working with adult women who are making major life changes as they move from the working world to retirement. I am best positioned to help women as they find their way into a new stage of their human development. In your therapy we will explore all aspects of your challenges to open doors of opportunity to help you thrive in this stage of life.
