My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a psychiatric nurse practitioner with 10 years of clinical experience, I have consistently integrated Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into my treatment approach, particularly with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and adjustment disorders. I appreciate CBT’s structured, evidence-based framework that helps individuals identify and modify distorted thinking patterns and maladaptive behaviors. In my practice, I use CBT both as a standalone intervention and in conjunction with medication management, depending on the client’s diagnosis and needs. I begin by educating clients about the cognitive model—how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected—then collaboratively identify problematic thought patterns (e.g., catastrophizing, black-and-white thinking). Through structured sessions, I guide clients in reframing these thoughts and developing healthier coping strategies. Overall, CBT has been a valuable tool in helping my clients improve emotional regulation, enhance problem-solving skills, and achieve greater insight into their mental health challenges. Its adaptability and empirical support make it a cornerstone of my holistic, client-centered treatment model.

She is amazing, I don’t know her very well yet but I already feel safer & focused with a new ray of hope beginning to form.
