About
Hello! I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and a military veteran. I bring a wealth of experience in providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. I help individuals across the lifespan, including veterans who are facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other mental health conditions.
As a veteran, I understand high-stress environments, trauma, and the challenges of service related mental health issues.
My goal is to empower my clients by offering personalized treatment plans, medication management, and supportive therapy.
First session
My priority for our first session together is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you are encouraged to express yourself freely and openly. We will begin with introductions and I will explain my role in your mental health journey. We will discuss your mental health concerns, what brought you in, and your expectations and goals for treatment. Together we will implement a plan specific to your mental health needs.
Strengths
I have an extensive nursing and military background which gives me a deep understanding of both physical and mental health conditions. My experiences working with diverse populations including veterans, and trauma survivors enhances my ability to connect with clients, build trust, and provide patient-centered care. As a veteran, I understand high-stress environments, trauma, and the challenges of service related mental health issues. These strengths allow me to connect with clients in a unique way.
Ideal clients
I enjoy working with diverse populations including veterans, first responders, and high-performing professionals who may be struggling with mental health challenges but are hesitant about seeing help due to social stigmas. As a military veteran, I understand the pressure to perform, the difficulties with acknowledging struggles and the frustration of being misunderstood by those who haven't walked in your shoes.
