During my graduate internship at UTSW Zale Lipshy Inpatient Psychiatric Unit in Dallas, Texas I discovered my passion working with individuals struggling with the day-to-day challenges of their mental health and life’s obstacles. I engaged with them on treatment planning, individual and group therapy, education as well as case management. After graduation I worked full time on the unit until 2017 when I transferred to UTSW William P. Clements University Hospital Emergency Department working with adults from age 18+ mostly with those needing/requesting mental health treatment. I left my position at UTSW in 2022 to begin my private practice and help those struggling remain in the community and not become hospitalized.
I have motivated individuals, couples and families to engage in change. My goal and mission is to challenge and encourage individuals to see themselves and their situations through a different lens. Together we can make that happen! I have an extensive "toolbox" and encourage clients to build their own.
I have engaged clients in Cognitive behavioral Therapy, Reminiscent Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy as well as Motivational Interviewing.
Working to manage depression, anxiety, addiction, substance use/abuse, grief and/or suicidal ideation is my calling as I easily connect with others.
