Hello, I'm Dr. Rafat Omar. I'm a licensed clinical psychologist in Pennsylvania. I work with clients of all ages, couples, and families. I'm trained as a generalist and have knowledge and experience in treating a broad range of psychological issues. I have extensive experience working with and diagnosing individuals with autism spectrum disorder as well. Other issues I frequently treat include depression, anxiety, couples issues, bi-polar disorder and specific phobias. I look forward to starting our work together!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session I'll prioritize getting to know you as a person. I'll aim to gather as much information as I can about you and your unique situation as well as your strengths. We'll collaborate to come up with goals to help you progress in the areas that you find important. After our initial intake we'll begin working to make those goals a reality. To do this we'll work on changing any negative thoughts impacting your life, helping you to view things in a different light, and with coping strategies and techniques to utilize between sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength is connecting with others. I've worked in a wide variety of areas with a diverse client base and I find that I connect with and understand others will regardless of background. My best asset is my ability to listen effectively, creating a safe space for others to share their experiences without fear of judgement and in a non threatening environment.
